Iberia Breaks Record With More Latin America Flights in 2025

Airline News

Iberia is setting new records in 2025, offering more seats to Latin America than ever before. The Spanish flag carrier has deployed 5.5 million seats on transatlantic routes, a jump of more than 5% compared to 2024.

The airline now operates over 350 weekly flights between Madrid and Latin America, up from 330 last year. This makes Iberia the single largest European player in the Europe–Latin America market.

Growth is especially strong in key destinations such as Peru, Chile, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. In December, Iberia also added a brand-new route to Recife, Brazil, further cementing its dominance in the region.

For travelers, this means more frequencies, better connectivity, and greater choice when flying between Europe and South America. Iberia’s latest expansion also highlights the central role of Madrid-Barajas Airport as the leading transatlantic hub between the two continents.
